Lives of Uvalde Victims to be Remembered in DFW

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) In response to the recent mass school shooting massacre that occurred on May 24th at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, the Office of Texas State Representative Ana-Maria Ramos, in partnership with the Mexican-American Legislative Caucus, will hold a commemoration ceremony to honor the twenty-one children and teachers who were forced to sacrifice their lives on November 1, All Saints Day.
“Join me and my colleagues in showing support for the families of the victims of the
Robb Elementary mass school shooting by demanding action,” Ramos. “Bipartisan legislation must
be passed to raise the minimum age to twenty-one to purchase assault weapons in Texas.
Mass shootings are up 62% since Governor Greg Abbott passed his extreme Permitless
Carry law, which makes it easier for criminals to carry a loaded gun in public without any
background check, training, or permit. His inaction to protect our children since he has
been in office is unacceptable. Enough is enough! We invite Democrats, Republicans, and
Independents alike to join in our call to action and demand common-sense gun legislation
that prioritizes children over guns.”
Members of the community are encouraged to attend this commemoration ceremony at Dallas
College Mountain View Campus from 6:30 pm – 8 pm on November 1 at the Treetop Lounge to join local Latino Officials and community leaders in a unified call to action.
